City Council Chaplains

City Council team coordinator -Peter

Peter is married to Angela and both enjoy being with family and friends, travel and caravanning, volunteering for the Watercress Line

Peter and Angela are both actively involved in community and church. They have three grown up children and nine grandchildren. Peter has been a senior civil servant, charity CEO and undertakes many voluntary assignments. He is currently Chairman of Hope Church Trustees.

Nigel joined the City Centre Chaplain’s team over 3 years ago and has mainly visited shops on the High Street. He has now moved into visiting the City Council. He says chaplaincy provides a great opportunity to regularly meet and encourage people who work in Winchester and help to make it such a thriving place.  His main job is as pastor of Winchester Vineyard Church, a community of people of all ages and stages and from all kinds of backgrounds.

Nigel leads a fantastic team which includes loads of volunteers who help all of us practically live out our Christian faith. Before coming south in 2011, Nigel lived in Birmingham for 23 years where he worked as a musician and a primary school teacher as well as a pastor.   He is married to Jo, who co-leads the church and they have three teenage children.  In his spare time Nigel enjoys watching movies and also leads Winchester Sings! This is a community choir where people have fun, make friends and sing funky music.  You will see them busking around the town occasionally.

Debbie also visits the City Council, mainly on the 1st floor, but she does ‘pop in’ to see everyone across the whole Council occasionally.
